Firm Home: The Same Every Time

Firm Boil Potatoes


If it's boiled potatoes you're craving, 'Firm' will do the job!


1. Chop the potatoes into even chunks, and place them in a pan. Cover with boiling water.

2. Place lid on the pan and gently simmer for approximately 15-20 mins until just tender.

3. Once cooked, drain.

4. Season to taste and serve immediately



Firm Steam Potatoes


'Firm' potatoes are good for steaming:


1. Peel the potatoes
2. Bring 4cm of water to boil in a pan that comfortably fits your steaming basket or colander. Sit the potatoes inside and add a good sprinkling of salt to the potatoes.
3. Cover for 15-20 minutes.
4. When you are ready to serve, brush them with the melted butter, add a sprinkling of chopped parsley and bring to the table. Good enough to eat on their own, or serve with any dinner.



Firm Roast Potatoes


'Firm' is also perfect for making those irresistible roasts:


1. Add the potatoes to cold water and bring to the boil. Don't leave the potatoes in the water for more than 10 minutes in total.

2. Drain them and coat in the oil or fat of your choice. Use 15ml (1 tbl spn) /25g (1oz) fat for each 450g (1lb) of potatoes.

3. Roast in an oven preheated to 200°C/425°F/Gas mark 6 for approximately 45 minutes, turning twice.

4. Serve immediately.
